Please come and listen to this inspiring talk from two very passionate photographers as they take you on a visual journey
through the ancient lands of this fascinating country emerging from a painful past.
Suki has devoted most of his life to capturing the heart and soul of the people in the many countries that he has visited.
He spent 10 years photographing the indigenous tribes of South America and produced a beautiful book – Guardians ofTime
that reflects the heartfelt connection with those people.
Dayak Dave Metcalf has lived in Bali for five years and has visited Myanmar on three occasions.
He fell in love with the people and the spirit of the country when he first visited Myanmar in 2014 and has travelled
to many places which he describes as a photographers paradise.
Dave and Suki love to use their photography to educate and support communities in the places they visit.
Accordingly this special night will try and raise funds to support 23 nuns who are living and cared for in a monastery in central Myanmar.
These young people ( between ages of 10 and 16 ) rarely get to see their parents who live in dangerous war zones that are off limits.
The nuns have been moved from these areas to the monastery for safety. They miss their parents very much so this year in april Dave arranged
to transport them to a safe area near the village areas so the parents could come and visit their sons and daughters.
Plans are to reunite them again later this year, so people who come along will have the chance to hear more about this program and support if they wish.
Therefore, if you want to see some inspiring images from these two passionate photographers, learn a little more about photography techniques,
hear some stories, or have an interest in visiting Myanmar then this night is for you!! Please join us.
